Install Theme via FTP


Follow the steps below to learn how to install theme via FTP

  • Step 1: Login to your hosting space via an FTP software

  • Step 2: Unzip the Amy Handmade file and only use the extracted Amy Handmade folder

  • Step 3: Upload the extracted Amy Handmade folder into wp-content => Theme folder

  • Step 4: Activate the newly installed theme by going to Appearance => Themes and click on Activate button to activate theme

Install Theme via WordPress


Follow the steps below to learn how to install theme via WordPress

  • Step 1: From backend, go to Appearances => Themes => Add New button, click on Upload button at the top of the page

  • Step 2: Click on Choose File to choose theme from your local computer, the file requirement is zip format. Press Install Now button to install theme.

  • Step 3: Wait for few seconds, the theme will be uploaded and extracted automatically by WordPress. After this process complete, you only need to press on Activate link under the message for successful installed theme.

Once you ativate Amy Handmade, you will receive notification message to install plugins. Follow the steps of Plugins Installation part below to learn how to do this

Plugin Installation


How to install required and recommended plugins for Amy Handmade

  • Step 1: Once you activate Amy Handmade, you will receive a notification message at the top of the screen that shows you which are required plugins and which are recommended plugins for theme.

  • Step 2: Click on Begin Install Plugins link under the message to go to Plugin’s list in which you can install and activate the required and recommended plugins. Tick on the box for plugins you wish to install => Click on Bulk Action to see drop-down list => Install => Apply button

    Important: Required plugins are compulsory plugins to make Amy Handmade work.

  • Step 3: Wait for some seconds, after all of the plugin is installed, from Dashboard => Plugins, you will activate the plugins as you want.

Installing Demo Content


By One-Click Demo, you are easy to set up a site the same as Amy Handmade's demo in seconds with all three home pages content

Important: Before installing demo, you need to make sure that Amy Handmade theme and required plugins (Amy Handmade Extends, AmyTheme Framework and Visual Composer, WooCommerce) are installed and activated successfully

From Dashboard => Handamde Theme => Demo Content => Click on Install button, a popup will appear to ask if you want to continue installing the demo content. Click on OK button if you want to continue. Please wait for some seconds, once the installing process is completed, you will see the message Demo's Installed

Blog Settings


Blog section allows you to make the global settings for blog page and single post page.

From Dashboard => Handmade Theme => Blog.

1. General Blog Page Settings

  • » Blog Layout: Amy Handmade theme offers you three layouts for your blog page (List layout, Grid layout and Masonry layout).

  • » Blog Columns: Shows if Grid layout and Masonry layout is selected. Decide the number of columns for your blog page.

  • » Blog Sidebar: Decide your blog page with right sidebar, left sidebar or full sidebar.

  • » Blog Sidebar Type: Choose sidebar/ widget area from the list. These sidebar/ widget area will be created at Widgetssection.

  • » Blog Featured Image Size: You can decide the global size for featured image of the blog posts.

  • » Blog Pagination: Decide to use the default pagination or load more or hide pagination at your blog page.

  • » Blog Automatically Excerpt: Select On/ Off to show/ hide blog excerpt.

  • » Blog Excerpt Word Limit: Enter the number of words will show at the post excerpt.

2. Single Blog page settings

  • » Show Featured Image: Select On/ Off to show/ hide featured image.

  • » Featured Image Size: Decide the featured image size.

  • » Show Social Share: Select On/ Off to show/ hide social icons (Facebook, Google Plus, Pinterest, Twitter) at the single blog page.

  • » Show About Authors: Select On/ Off to show/ hide the “about author” section at single blog page.

  • » Show Recent Posts: Select On/ Off to show/ hide recent posts at the single movie page.

  • » Recent Posts: Click on the arrow-down icon to select the recent posts type (Recent Posts, Related Posts, Random Posts, Most Commented Post).

  • » Recent Posts Title: Enter the recent post title

  • » Recent Post Thumbnail: Select On/ Off to show/ hide the recent post thumbnail.

  • » Recent Post Thumbnail Size: Click on arrow-down button to select the post thumbnail size.

  • » Show Post Navigation: Select On/ Off to show/ hide the post navigation.

Click on Save button to save any your change.

Typography Settings


From Dashboard => Handmade Theme => Typography => click on Add New Typography button to add new typography for new parts

  • » Title: Enter the title for the part you want to change typography. For example, enter "Menu Typography" to add typography for Menu.
  • » Select: Enter class or ID of elements you want to change typography.
  • » Font Family: Choose the font you want.
  • » Font Size: Enter font size (by pixel), it's optional.
  • » Line Height: Enter line height (by pixel), it's optional.
  • » Custom CSS: Custom CSS for this element, it's optional.

Click on Save button to save any your changes.

WooCommerce General Settings


This section allows you to set the number columns of products at shop page, and more.

From Dashboard => Handamde Theme => WooCommerce

Extra

This section is optional allows you to add the extra css and js.

From Dashboard => Handmade Theme => Extra.

  • » Custom Css: Enter the extra Css for the global settings.
  • » Custom Js: Enter the extra Js for the global settings.

Demo Content


This option allows you to install or uninstall demo content by some clicks.

From Dashboard => Handamde Theme => Demo Content.

Module Settings


Amy Handmade offers you 15 great module for the top bar and header.

1. Search module


This module help you to add the search module to your top bar, you will be easy to create a nice and functional search module by some options.

How To


This section guildes all the things you need to create for your handmade websites. Here you will learn how to create new posts, products, testimonials and how to set up a homepage.

How To Add New Posts


1. How to add new product categories

From Dashboard => Posts => Categories. You can explore the extra useful information for categories at Wordpress Codex

2. How to add new post

From Dashboard => Posts => Add New

  • Title: Enter the post’s title.
  • Content: Enter the post’s content.
  • Format: Select one of the ten Post Formats. Post formats is a value added to WordPress posts which allow theme developers to define the visual appearance of a post to help visitors can realize those posts are images or video or normal articles.
  • Categories: Choose Categories for the post.
  • Tags: Choose Tags for the post.
  • Featured Images:Featured Image is like a post thumbnails. It is necessary to add featured image to each post. Click on Set Featured Image link to select an image from the library or upload an image from your local devices.
  • Pag Layout: You can decide the interface of blog post detail page with Left Sidebar, Right Sidebar, Full Width.

    If you choose Left Sidebar or Right Sidebar layout, Choose a Custom Sidebar option will appear. Click on Choose a Custom Sidebar to select a sidebar from the list.

    8.1. General Tab: This section allows you to turn on/ off the transparency header and top bar as well as footer section

    8.2. Page Header Tab: This section allows you to show/ hide page header or decide to use the global page header as well as custom the page header base on your needs.

    • » Disable Page Header: Select On/ Off to disable/ enable page header for this page single blog. If you choose “On”, all of the options below will be invalid.
    • » Disable Breadcrumb: Select On/ Off to hide/ show the page header breadcrumb.
    • » Disable Title: Select On/ Off to hide/ show the page title.
    • » Custom Title: Shows if you choose Off for Disable Title option. Enter the custom title for the page header.
    • » Custom Page Header: Choose Off to use the global settings of the page header at the Page Header section of theme option. If you choose On, some other options will appear, allow you to custom the background/ color of page header. You can visit Page Header section of Theme options to know more information about each option.

After all, click on Publish button.

Add/ Edit testimonials


1. Add a new testimonial category


From Dashboard => Testimonials => Categories => Enter the category’s name at the Name option => click on Add New Category button to save and if you want you can continue to add new categories.

2. Add new or edit testimonials from backend


From Dashboard => Testimonials => Add New

  • Enter the client’s name
  • Enter the client’s testimonials
  • Set up client’s detail information (client’s avatar, email, position, company, website, the number of star rating..
  • Choose the category for testimonials.

How To Create Homepage


By default, WordPress sets blog page as a home page for your website. Almost of time, it is not what you want, so in this guide, you can learn how to create and set up a special homepage for your site.

Build up a page by Visual Composer

From Dashboard => Pages => Add New

  • Enter the page title.
  • Build up homepage content by using Visual Composer elements and Custom Amy Handmade Shortcodes.
  • Custom Page header: Please note that this section is invalid for the front page.

  • Page Layout: Choose the page layout with right sidebar, left sidebar, full width or 100% width.

After all, click on Publish button

Set up Front Page

From Dashboard => Settings => Reading, you can set homepage by following the steps of the screenshot below.

How to custom User Login page


Amy User Settings section allows you to enable/ disable the custom login page in a popup or in a page with sidebar or without sidebar and add Social login in that page.

  • 1. General Settings

    • General

      • » Enable Custom Login: If you choose Off, the Default WordPress Login page will be enabled. If you choose On, the Custom AmyMovie Login page will be enabled. Please note that if you choose Off for Enable Custom Login option, all of the options below will be invalid.
      • » Login Redirect URL: Enter the URL into the box so that after users login, they will redirect to that link.
    • Page User Settings: This section allows you to decide the layout of login page with sidebar or without sidebar.

      • » Page User Sidebar: Click on Arrow-down button to decide the layout of the custom login page with right sidebar, left sidebar or no sidebar.
      • » Page User Sidebar Widget: Click on Arrow-down button to choose a sidebar from the list.
    • Popup Setting: This section allows you to decide using login popup or login page.

      • » Use Popup: Choose On to enable Login Popup, choose Off to enable Login Page.
  • 2. Social Settings

    Enable Social Login: Select On/ Off to enable/ disable social login module (Facebook, Google Plus, Twitter) on the custom login page.

    Please note that if you choose Off for Enable Social Login option, all of the options below will be invalid.

      • » Facebook Login: Select On/ Off to enable/ disable Facebook login icon on the custom login page.
      • » Facebook APP ID: Click on Where I can get this info link to know about how to get Facebook APP ID, then copy the IP on the box.
    • Google Plus Login Settings

      • » Google Login: Select On/ Off to enable/ disable Facebook login icon on the custom login page.
      • » Google App ID: Click on Where I can get this info link to know about how to get Google Plus APP ID, then copy the IP on the box.
      • » Google Client ID: Click on Where I can get this info link to know about how to get Google Plus Client ID, then copy the IP on the box.
    • Twitter Login Settings

      • » Twitter Login: Select On/ Off to enable/ disable Twitter login icon on the custom login page.
      • » Consumer Key: Click on Where I can get this info link to know about how to get Consumer Key, then copy that key on the box
      • » Consumer Secret: Click on Where I can get this info link to know about how to get Consumer Secret, then copy/ paste on the box.

Amy Tabs


Amy Tabs allows you to easily add and edit your tabs and you can add elements into each tabs as you wish. Follow the steps below to learn how Amy Tabs works

  • » Step 1: Amy Tabs General setting

    At this step, you can learn how to set the position of tab and choose active tab

    From the green bar => click on button to make general setting on Tab

    • 1.1. General Setting

      • » Tab Nav Block: You can set the position of tab on block. There are two positions: Default (the tabs will be in navigation of the block); Left (the tab will be on the left of the block content)
      • » Active Tab Nav: You can decide what tab will be active tab (Eg: if you enter 2 for this option, the tab #2 will appear by default). If this box is empty, the tab # 1 will be shown as Active Tab
    • 1.2. Extra Setting: This option is optional allows you to add extras ID or extras class for your tabs

  • » Step 2: Child Tab settings

    You can edit tab name or add element into child tabs at yellow bar

    • 2.1. Edit tab name

      Click on tab you want to edit => click button at yellow bar , a popup will appear and you can change the tab name as you want

      Each tab will show diferent content. To do this: click on the tab you want to add elements and click Plus icon at the yellow bar to choose elements like the image below

Widget Introduction


1. What is widgets?

A WordPress Widgets are small blocks that perform a specific function. You can add widgets to sidebars/ widget areas to show on your webpages. At the screenshot above you can see widgets are on your left-hand side and the Widget Areas are on the right-hand side.

  • Step 1: Drag and drop widget into Widget Area as you want, then set it up.
  • Step 2: Click Save button to save your change.

From Dashboard => Widgets, you will drag and drop Amy Handmade List to any widget area you want to display.

About module allows you to add some text with a banner like a short introduction of your company or your website.

From Dashboard => Widgets, you will drag and drop Amy Handmade Module to any widget area you want to display, then choose Instagram for Type option.

Contact module allows you to show some information about your address, phone and email and more,,,, so that visitor can be easier to contact you if they need.

3. Advertising module


Advertising Module allows you to add advertising banner and insert a link into it

From Dashboard => Widgets, you will drag and drop Amy Handmade Module to any widget area you want to display, then choose Adverising for Type option.

4. Social Module


You can add as many social network channels as you want at the social module. Clicking on Add New Social button to add new social.

From Dashboard => Widgets, you will drag and drop Amy Handmade Module to any widget area you want to display, then choose Social for Type option => Clicking on Add New Social button to add new social.

Amy Testimonial Widget


This widget allows you to show the testimonials on the sidebar or widget area. You can show testimonials based on the categories, or you can decide which testimonials will be shown by enter the testimonials IDs.

From Dashboard => Widgets, you will drag and drop Amy Handmade Testimonials to any widget area you want to display.

  • Title: Enter the widget title.

  • Decide to get data from testimonial categories or testimonials IDs.

    • » Get Data from Testimonial categories

      » » Get Data from: Select Category for this option

      » » Genre: Shows if "Category" is selected at "Get Data From" option. Select the testimonial categories you want to show.

    • » Get Data from Testimonial IDs: This feature allows you to select which testimonials will be shown.

      » » Get Data from: Select Testimonial IDs for this option

      » » Testimonial IDs: Shows if "Testimonial IDs" is selected at "Get Data From" option. Enter the testimonial IDs to the box.

  • General Information.

    • » Order by: Arrange the displaying orders of testimonials according to Title, Date or Random Orders

    • » Sort Order: Arrange the displaying order of testimonials according to Descending or Ascending.

    • » Layout: There are two layouts to show testimonials (List, Grid and Carousel).

    • » Number Testimonials: Decide the number of testimonials will be shown.

    • » Column: Shows if Grid layout or Carousel layout is selected. Decide the number columns of testimonials

    • » List Field Visible: Decide the client’s extra fields will show with client’s testimonials.

  • Show Avatar: Select On/ Off to show/ hide client’s avatar

    If you choose On, there are some options will appear.

  • Show Pagination: Select On/ Off to show/ hide pagination.

    If you choose On, there are some options will appear.

  • Custom Style: Choose On to custom style for testimonials. If you choose Off, the testimonials will use default style.

  • Extra Css: Enter the extra Css for this block (optional)

After all, click on Save button to save any your change.
